What support is on offer?

This project will support 15 women and gender non-conforming individuals working in Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths adjacent roles, providing a space to amplify their voices and grow confidence and skills as a STEM role model.

Through a series of training and development workshops we will collaboratively programme STEM engagement workshops for young people. We will also co-create a toolkit to support future post-project engagement and outreach work featuring workshop ideas, activities, engagement tools and other tailored resources. It aims to enhance peer support and continue building a network of empowered role models.

What we know

Visible role models are critical to inspiring young people's career choices. Whilst we can celebrate the work that has been done towards building equality in the workplace, we still have a long way to go. It is important to platform diversity within the STEM sector, challenge stereotypes and raise aspirations. To invest in our future, we need to ensure a wide representation of STEM role models and increase their visibility to young people. You can't be what you can't see, and we know that consistent interventions at a young age are the best way to engage young people with STEM careers.
